Sir Eric Pickle used to be the Secretary of State at the Department Communities and Local Government which was responsible for Holocaust Memorial Day in the UK. He is now the UK Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues and he invited me to have tea with him. We went to the splendid Pugin room overlooking the river, where they serve very fine cream scones.
I had taken him a copy of my new book and the picture shows me handing it over in the historic Westminster Hall where Charles I was tried and the lying-in-state of members of the Royal Family and statesmen like Gladstone and Churchill prior to their funerals have taken place.
